My mother “Annie” love to make that great mâche salad dish in the winter:
Cook a few small (new) potatoes. wash mâche and marinade in olive oil, vinegar and pepper. add a spoon full of sunflower seeds. toss. set aside. once the potatoes are done, cut them in half and fry them in a splash of olive oil. add salt and pepper and also rosemary. when the potatoes are nice and crisp add them to the lettuce and toss.
